Art Outreach Gallery Year End Show and Sale Friday, November 28 through Sunday, January 11, 2009 On FRIDAY, November 28, 2008, the Art Outreach Gallery in the Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio will kick off its Year End Show and Sale featuring artwork produced by creative local youth and adults. The exhibition runs Friday, November 28 through Sunday, January 11, 2009. The exhibition is made possible by the generous donations of the Warren Junior Women’s League/GFWC and the Eastwood Mall Complex. The professional gallery showcases artwork in various media such as painting, photography, jewelry, and sculpture as well as printmaking and tapestry. Exhibiting artists are Tom Altiere, Jackie Bodnar-Burns, Kay Bohen, Capri Cafaro, Coleen Caswell, Brenda Cohen, Theresa Dambik, Tricia D’Avignon, Bill Flowers, Eric Gardenhire, Dennis Gartland, Veronique Gerard, Judith Griffiths, Larry Griffiths, Kristie Hoard, James Holko, Susan Jacobs, Cynde Kennedy, Diana Ludwig, Sharyle Marcy, Lee Andrea Marletto, Tim Mrofchak, Ron Mrus, Mary Jo Ohlin, Melissa Perry, Kathleena Phillips, Carol Prelog, Kathryn Slattery, Rocco Vadala. Jason VanHoose, Irena Waksmundzki, Chris Yambar, Kathy Young and Marty Young. All artworks are for sale and respective artists receive 100% of proceeds. The Gallery simply puts artist and patron in direct contact with each other. Art contributed by supporters of the Gallery is also for SALE. The Youth Gallery is exhibiting art by local young artists. Students from the following schools are participating in the youth exhibit: Sense of Wonder Preschool and Daycare, NDS/Blessed Sacrament Campus, St. Stephen School, John F Kennedy High School, Labrae Middle School, Warren McGuffey Middle and Elementary School , Warren Emerson Elementary School, Warren Jefferson Middle School, Warren Alternative Program, Warren Lincoln Middle and Elementary School, Harding High School, Trumbull County Saturday Enrichment Program, Arts Excel, Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley, Greenville Senior High School, Niles Middle School, Niles High School, Howland High School, Austintown High School, Mineral Ridge High School, Girard Elementary School, Girard Junior High School and Girard High School. The Gallery is also featuring 320 original pieces of artwork from the 9th Annual Fairhaven Calendar Art Contest created by children, adults, and seniors of the Fairhaven Foundation. December 5th, 6th and 7th is Fairhaven’s Holiday Weekend with activities including the Fairhaven Holiday Craft Sale and Show. The Gallery will host various performances and activities throughout the Holiday Season. The schedule includes a Local Artist Sale, performances by local youth and adult pianist and bass players and Story Telling with Strawberry Shortcake. A special thank you goes to Carly Roberts, Corrie and Charlie Adams from Volunteer Services Agency, Inc. for prepping and painting the Gallery. Volunteer Services Agency, Inc. coordinates volunteer activities throughout the community and provides resources and assistance where needed to create a spirit of good will and cooperation within the community. The Gallery is located in the Eastwood Mall across from American Eagle Outfitters, along the concourse between Macy’s and JC Penney’s. Holiday hours of operation will be Friday 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm to 10:00pm, and Sunday 1:00pm to 6:00pm. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
