What Did You See This Year That Moved You
Small Events
Little Bigs
December 23, 1992
Here are two years of major little events, little
experiences that touched me in a big way:
Hearing a group of coyotes howl so musically, so
briefly, so eerily from the foot of Tamarack hill we
think we've imagined it.
Learning to rollerblade and discovering it doesn't
hurt to fall with all the padding one has to wear,
and concluding that the most effective way to stop
is to fall.
Watching cedar waxwings dip and weave over roaring
whitewater of the Delaware River; and on the rocky
shoreline I'm delighted by innumerable tiny sundews,
their delicate hairy leaves shimmering in the with sticky drops that trap
their insect meals
