Tripping Mechanics of the Motorcycle

Goad I

September 19, 1986.

ah, a reason behind a tight-lipped expressiion
one doesn’t wish to eat bugs
or pick them out of one’s teeth
(the reason for your toothpicks)

reasoning as flimsy as toothpicks.
The swarms along the Tulpehocken
leave me
feeling like a human pest-strip.
And some nights
Just feeling like a human pest, period.
The biggest pest ever hatched.

Marketed in little Mickey Mouse and Superman tatoos,
Little blue stars or dots the size of a pinhead
That press onto the skin or the tongue.
“big kids may think it funny to give little kids
a high
or a fatal trip
first and last.
I’m gone.
George Guerner’s brother
Is coming as new mechanic.
I say
Who’s leaving?
They don’t know.
